Doorknob Technique

Doorknob Technique

Curious to know why I add this extra choke tie at the beginning and end of the warp? It does two things: prevents yarn from shifting in the dye process, and makes it easier to straighten after I’m done.

When I’m done painting and washing out my yarn, the end fits conveniently onto a doorknob so I have something to hold my yarn while I straighten and chain the warp.

So if you ever need to straighten one of my warps before putting it on a loom, you can do it all by yourself with the help of a doorknob.
