Japanese Indigo Seeds
Back in stock on Feb. 21st!
Persicaria tinctoria, Senbon variety (pink flower).
Try growing your very own natural blue dye with this temperate climate indigo plant. Persicaria is in a genus of plants commonly known as smartweeds or knotweeds (sometimes this plant is called "dyer's knotweed"). It is noninvasive, and easy to grow either in your garden or in pots.
To see the plants from which these seeds were harvested, please visit my Instagram page.
As these seeds have been hand-winnowed, expect a little leftover plant matter. Each packet contains thousands of seeds. There is a roughly 60-70% viability rate for these seeds, so plant extra to make sure you have plenty of plants. Any seeds you don't use can be put in the freezer for use later. (They will lose viability over time, but will still produce plenty of plants.)
- $10: 1/4 oz. packets (approx. 7.1g): contain roughly 2800+ seeds
- $15 (Save 25%): 1/2 oz. packets (approx. 14.2g): contain roughly 5600+ seeds
SHIP TO USA & CANADA ONLY. For international inquiries, contact me directly at email@example.com.
Shipping internationally will depend on the import rules for seeds in your country. I cannot be held responsible for seeds that don't make it through customs. I also cannot provide a phytosanitary certificate. (It's just me and my home garden!) Check with your country's rules of import for seeds, and if you believe they can pass through customs, I'll be happy to send them!
A beautifully hand dyed warp chain arrived on time and well chained. Looking forward to more orders in the future!
All the items need to start dyeing! Love the combination of colors.
I am looking forward to dyeing warps!
Already measured and ready to dye! Can’t get much better than that!
Looks wonderful. I am taking a warp dying class and I am excited to use this!!
Looking forward to introducing dying to family.
Kit looks fabulous.
I love this yarn! The color is so deep and rich. I’m looking forward to turning it into something wonderful.
The yarn takes the color wonderfully, and the prompt service is great!
I like this title
I love the colors that I received but I am baffled about what to do with the small skeins. I really don’t want to just do stripes. I would have liked some ideas for patterns. The yarn itself is gorgeous.
My friends loved the surprise colors!
The Mystery Yarn Box was so fun to receive! I currently have a Theo Moorman warp on the loom and all the beautiful hues in the box are activating my creative juices. I loved it so much — I ordered a second Mystery Yarn Box! Thanks Amanda for creating this item!
i jumped on the opportunity to try this out, hoping i wouldn’t end up with seconds or dud colors. Wow, all i can say is i got an incredible variety and value in weaving tencel ….. while not every color is my favs they are all gorgeous and i can’t wait to use them. definitely a great value!
Beautiful colours. Luxurious hand. Can’t wait to start my next project!
This warp is a beautiful mix of purples that my daughter picked out for me to weave a wrap for her, so I'm hoping I can also get a cowl out of it. I love all the warps from SDF, and this is one I've always wanted to try, so it will be first on my loom in the new year. I've never been disappointed with a warp from SDF, and this is no exception. Can't wait to buy more!!!
